We are what Carpenters were
Allow me to introduce West Branch Carpentry LLC. My hope is that we may be of some service to you. Our goal is to provide exquisite craftsmanship and proven expertise within the Custom Woodworking and Building Industries of Northern Idaho. We are enthusiastic concerning every detail and we strive to give our customers, clients and friends the confidence that they can always count on us to consistently perform quality work. True craftsmanship is a beautiful and lasting thing to behold.
My wife Jennifer and I are raising 4 boys and 2 girls. Carpentry is not just the means of making a living for us, it is a heritage handed down from one generation to the next. My family has been “setting up to mill the wood” for centuries, long before today’s modern CNC technologies have become prevalent. Although today's advances in woodworking machinery are pretty awesome and we do integrate modern cutting edge technology, there will never be a replacement for the Artisan, or the lessons learned from those whose hands have worked the wood. I believe to be a good Carpenter it has to be in your blood and I also believe to be a great Carpenter takes a lifetime of study and lots of practice, while working alongside Great Craftsmen. My father and his brothers were Carpenters and Stone Masons in Ireland, as were my grandfather and his father and grandfather. That makes me at least a 5th generation Carpenter. I told that to a man one time and he replied "boy, you fellas never learn". I thought that was pretty funny.
I myself have been building and installing Custom and Architectural Woodwork for 30 years. Some of the more elaborate woodwork I have had the opportunity to design and build include freestanding circular staircases, curved raised panels, various wood bending and radius work, ornamental trusses, coffered ceilings, hidden door bookcases, as well as custom cabinetry & furniture, front entryway doors, crown and cornice work, wainscoting, interior and exterior trim etc... Now that is just a short list. I have also worked on many Historical Restoration Projects and seen firsthand how wood has been worked throughout American History. There are not many aspects or complexities of woodwork that would intimidate me. Now having said all that, I am just as content to be hanging and casing doors, setting cabinets, outfitting closets and pantries, running baseboard or on the Conventional Wood Frame Construction side of things, framing houses, building additions, porches, decks, docks, boathouses, barns, garages or small out buildings.
We perform Rough Carpentry and Finish Carpentry with a combination of Modern Machining Technology, Current Engineering Advances and proven Old World Joinery Techniques. From New Construction to Remodeling to Historical Restoration we have the Old World and New World experience in Architectural Millwork, Custom Woodwork, Building Design and Conventional Wood Frame Construction to complete any size project or scope of work within the residential market.
Thank you for your consideration
Sincerely,
Kieran McLaimtaig
